Geschke Director of the Human-Computer Interaction Institute at Carnegie Mellon University.〔http://www.cmu.edu/news/stories/archives/2014/june/june12_aninddey.html〕 His research interests lie at the intersection of human–computer interaction and ubiquitous computing, focusing on how to make novel technologies more usable and useful. In particular, he builds tools that make it easier to build useful ubiquitous computing applications and supporting end users in controlling their ubiquitous computing systems. ==Biography== Dey was born in Canada but lives and works in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Dey received a Bachelor of Applied Science in computer engineering from Simon Fraser University in Burnaby, Canada in 1993. He received a Master of Science in aerospace engineering from Georgia Tech in 1995〔(Curriculum Vitae for Anind K. Dey )〕 and then went on to complete a second master's degree and a PhD in computer science, also at Georgia Tech, in 2000. For his dissertation, he researched programming support for building context-aware applications: The Context Toolkit. He was a member of the Future Computing Environments research group in the College of Computing at Georgia Tech. His research interests are feedback and control in ubiquitous computing, context-aware computing, toolkits and end-user programming environments, sensor-rich environments, information overload, ambient displays, privacy, human-computer interaction. He is among the most prolific authors in computer science〔(DBLP Most Prolific Authors List )〕 and human-computer interaction.〔(HCI Bibliography Most Frequent Authors )〕
